Project Description
Please note: this site currently only references
the HR/Finance Cal Poly data warehouse model referred to as the
"Data Depot". See
Current Student Data Warehouse information,
or Enrollment
Services' Student Data Warehouse Project information (on-campus
link only).
The Cal State University, Hayward, data warehouse project is designed to optimize reporting and data access for users of our primary information systems.
Phase I included:
- Improving the existing operational data store (ODS).
- Data warehousing discovery, both within the California State University and across higher education.
- Multi-product Oracle9i technical training.
- Administration & Business Affairs and Human Resources end-user interviews.
Phase II: Our findings in Phase I led to the decision to implement an operational
data store for PeopleSoft Financials and Human Resources in Phase
II. We can implement California Polytechnic University at San Luis
Obispo's model or the CSU
concortium's model, and then
adapt it to the business needs of Cal State, Hayward.
Phase III: This phase of the project will encompass the development of a campus-wide support infrastructure for new data warehouse product requests, end-user training and strategic planning for the ongoing development of the ODS and our new data warehouse environment.
